On Monday Google offered a sneak peek at their new function of real-time search, incorporating social networks.
Google’s real-time search feature will stream recent news articles, updated blog posts, Tweets, updated web pages, Yahoo Answers, and status updates from public Facebook (including Fan Pages) and Myspace profiles.
Google hasn’t yet made the feature available to everyone, but will within the next few days. Until then, take a look at the video Google produced:
Your business now has an extra opportunity to be found in search results. Providing timely updates to your site, blog, and social networks is more important than ever. If you’re already using Facebook, Twitter, or Myspace, be sure to update them everyday if possible.
Google’s real-time search makes learning more about your company easier and faster for customers (and potential customers) than ever before.
Do you know how to monitor and respond to questions on Yahoo Answers? Are you prepared to contribute to conversations on Twitter about your brand or industry?
With the transformation to Google real-time search, it’s so important that you no longer treat your website as an inactive placeholder. You need a social media plan in place to adapt to these changes and keep your brand relevant. Don’t let real-time search make your company seem out of date.
